Pico Humbolt is Venezuela's second highest mountain (4942 m). It represents an extreme physical challenge so non-climbers have to be in good shape to climb it. But it is not necessary to have experience as mountain climber. We recommend this excursion more as the Pico Bolivar Trek because it is more accessible, the nature is at least the same as beautyful and the Humboldt glaciers snow and ice part is much bigger!

st day: You will be picked up and we will drive you until La Mucuy located in Sierra Nevada National Park. At 2000 meter high we will start the hike, and walk up to 5 hours, through tropical forest, going over to cloud forest, bamboo forest and finally reach the green transparent clear Laguna Coromoto at the exit of the woods at about 3100 meter high. We will do here our first Camping.

nd day: Today we will hike from Laguna Coromoto over the Páramo, where we will find a nice forest and an awesome Páramo vegetation with Frailejones (Espiletia)at sight. We will have to climb immense Stones that broke out of mountains during the ice age. We camp somewhere close to Laguna Verde. Snow-white Humboldt thrones close at sight.

rd day: After Breakfast we hike west to the deep green transparent clear Laguna El Suero. We will do some hike but also climbing until the Icebergs feet’s, once we are there, the use of ropes, climbing iron, ice axe come in action to penetrate the eternal ice and in takes about 30 minutes to cross the Iceberg and reach the Humbolt Peak. As a reward for the effort and the achievement we will catch an amazing view over the white Anden Peak. After that we will start going down and hike back til the camp at the Laguna Verde.

th day: About 7 hours is the time needed to go back all the way trough Laguna Coromoto and reach La Mucuy again, where we will get to the Inparques office, our transportation will be waiting to take us back to the Posada, to have a nice shower, have something to eat and drinks.
